And so, you became rich...

So, you have gone into the dungeon, you have defeated the monster, and you have returned with the gold.

What are you going to do,  now?

Are you going to hide your money and pretend nothing happened?

Or are you going to show off your gold, and live like one of those nobles who seems to have an endless flow of coins?

In the latter case, there will be a number of people who will be more than willing to separate you from their money.

Rulers

No matter who they are, rulers have a distinct habit of waging war against one another; and war have something in common: they cost money. Do you know where the word soldier comes from?

It comes from solidarius, which has the same root as the Latin word for "pay"; and solidus was the name of a coin in ancient Rome.

So, your ruler will look at your treasure and will start thinking that a part of it (most of it maybe) would be better employed if it were in their hands rather than yours.

And they have the mean to do that: taxes. Aren't you willing to pay your taxes like a good citizen? No? Well, you will have to discuss them with the soldiers who are waiting to be paid.

Thieves

Do you think the adventurers are the only ones willing to face peril with the prospect of gaining treasure?

Of course not! Thieves, bandits, highwaymen will all want to score a hit against you and your friend.

You could leave your money in a secure place but, after all, isn't where you found your treasure?

And who are you going to call to protect your money? The ruler?

Crooks

You surely need some good advise on what to do with your money; thankfully, there are so many good people willing to help you.

Moreover, you have discovered your lost family! You never realized that your father and your mother had so many brothers and sisters, and now you have so many aunts and cousins.

It's a shame that they are all in troubles. Nothing that your money can't fix, of course.

What do you mean you don't have all that money? Are you trying to be tightfisted with your family?

Should they all remember you that family comes first?

And besides, everything has become so expensive after you returned from your adventures: you pay beer with silver coins, instead of copper, and it seems you can't find a tavern who is going to offer you a meal for less than 10 silver coins.

So, are you ready for the next adventure?
